Narrative

The plot we decided on involves two women who live polar opposite lifestyles. On one hand there is Elizabeth, she is a high earning, upper class, business women. On the other hand there is Ash who is unemployed, lower class, and quite incompetent. They end up colliding in the street as neither of them are looking where they are going as they go about their daily travels. Elizabeth becomes enraged and Ash is very apologetic but eventually can’t help but react to Elizabeth’s rude comments.

Later that day Ash makes her way to a job interview.  It is a shock for her to be reunited with Elizabeth. Elizabeth is horrified to see her but is slightly won over by her apologetic attitude.  Ash ends up getting the job and is employed by Elizabeth as her personal assistant.

After spending so much time together they end up finding themselves falling for each other. Neither of them are willing to admit their feelings in the beginning and they try to convince themselves that the feelings aren't there.

They want very different things and clash a lot of the time because of their different lifestyle choices. This will cause a lot of issues and arguments which adds a sarcastic, comedy aspect.

Ash is very messy which is something that Elizabeth can't stand, everything needs to be neat and orderly. Ash tries to help Elizabeth let herself go every once in a while.  She tries to get her to drop her business women persona and wants her to relax a little. In return Ash agrees to let Elizabeth buy her new clothes.

Elizabeth takes Ash on a shopping trip to Paris. Whilst in the hotel they end up sharing a kiss. This complicates their relationship and Elizabeth is worried about how people might view her if anyone found out. Ash panics and blames it on the alcohol they had at dinner. The following morning Ash pretends that she doesn't remember it happening at all.

They fly back to London and avoid each other for the next week.

Elizabeth reaches out and asks to meet Ash. She tells her that she enjoyed Paris and the kiss. Ash is shocked to hear this, she enjoyed it too. Ash decides to tell the truth about her feelings. She rants to Elizabeth about everything and tells her she hopes it won't change anything between them.

They agree to date in secret as Elizabeth doesn't want to ruin her reputation, she stresses that it is not because she is ashamed but it is more that her business partners, colleagues and family might judge and dislike it so she thinks it would be best to keep it quiet for a while.

Elizabeth takes Ash to meet her upper class friends for dinner, (she introduces her as a "friend".) The night ends up being very funny. Ash struggles to fit in with Elizabeth's social circle. They are then invited on her business partners yacht for a party that her family, friends and work colleagues are attending.

When they think they are alone at the end of the night they end up holding hands looking out at the sea. They are caught doing so by Elizabeth's business partner and shortly after her friends and family. They are shocked and disgusted by what they have seen. They demand answers from Elizabeth. She becomes angry and sticks up for her relationship with Ash. She cancels her business deal with her partner, swears a lot and throws a drink at him. Her parents are shocked but she doesn't care. Ash is so happy and can't stop laughing. She can't believe Elizabeth has stood up for her.

In the end of the film we see Elizabeth and Ash going on a camping trip with Ash's large family. They all have such a fun time. Camping is not something Elizabeth would have ever seen herself doing but she is very happy she agreed. They all have a wonderful time in a family environment Elizabeth has never had but has always craved.
